You do not need a Canadian study permit (student visa) in order to study in Canada for six months or less than that. In case you plan on staying back after the course, it might be a bit worrisome. The study permit expires 90 days after the completion of the course. So, we suggest that you should have the student visa approved before reaching the country to stay on the safer side.
