On Oct 27, 2023, Canadian government has announced more ways to protect international students from fraud and make it easier to study in Canada.
The government announced several measures to protect students from fraud which are as follows:
Starting December 1, 2023, post-secondary designated learning institutions (DLI) will be required to confirm every applicant’s letter to acceptance through a new verification process before a study permit is issued.
In time for the fall 2024 semester, recognised DLIs that provide quality support and services for international students will benefit from enhanced service, including priority processing of study permits for applicants who plan to study at their school.
They’re also assessing criteria for post-graduation work permits and, in the coming months, will begin introducing changes that will benefit Canadian employers across the country and help meet regional and Francophone immigration goals.
