The Government of Canada unleashes the details of this week’s Express Entry invitation round, inviting 668 candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
With this draw, the total number of ITAs issued so far in 2020 through the Express Entry system reaches 19,368.
The minimum cut-off Comprehensive Ranking System score for this draw was 720.
This score requirement seemed quite high as compared to the cut-off requirement of the previous Express Entry draw that required a minimum score of 471. However, this draw included candidates that have provincial nominations aligned with the Express Entry system.
Canada welcomed 320,000 immigrants in 2018, and 341,000 newcomers in 2019. For the current year, the country is again targeting 341,000 immigrants. The new immigration targets were unveiled in the federal government’s 2020-2022 Immigration Levels Plans last week. According to the new targets, in the next three years, Canada is all set to welcome one million new permanent residents.
