The moment you decide to study or go out and live, the struggle starts. From searching the best immigration consultant to cracking IELTS with good bands, the phase is not too easy. You will definitely go searching for someone to guide you throughout the entire process. Now, not everyone you approach will guide you correctly. Since the level of competition to more visa approved is high, not everything everyone says is right. Keep reading to come across the famous myths related to IELTS.

Retaking the Test means the earlier band being invalid

Not true! The first thing you should know is, the result of IELTS is valid for up to 2 years. In case you feel the need to give the test again to get a better band, it is possible. This does not in any way mean that your earlier band is invalid. But if you are giving the test again, focus on the part you were weak in. Working on it might help you crack the test easily.

People fail the IELTS

Not true! The sole purpose of IELTS is to check how good you are in communicating with people in English. One cannot ‘pass’ or ‘fail’ the test. But the IELTS coaching in Ahmedabad did mention about the declining chances of you getting admission in the university you applied to due to low band. The band is calculated with the help of scores you have got in Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. In case you have .25 the overall band, it will be rounded up to the nearest half band. On the other hand, if it’s a .75, the entire band is changed to the next band. For instance, if your score is 6.75, your final band would be 7.

You get brownie points for speaking in British English

Incorrect! You wouldn’t get any extra points for either speaking British or American English. Instead of focusing on the test, if you keep working on a fake accent, you might get a low band for your overall performance. It is better to be on a safer side and simply work on your grammar, fluency, and vocabulary. Improving yourself while being yourself and working on self, can help you gain self-confidence. The best IELTS classes in Ahmedabad focus on working on the fluency and grammar, rather than a fake accent.

Speaking is the most important part of the IELTS

Incorrect! This one is the favourite myth amongst people. To be really clear, all the four-part of the test (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) are equally important. All of them constitute 25% respectively to the test. If you are planning to prepare just for the speaking test, it would be difficult to score a good band in the IELTS.
