Express Entry System is the mainstream and the primary source for the skilled foreign workers to apply for Canadian PR. Introduced in 2015, it manages the pool of candidates for three federal skilled immigration programs – the Federal Skilled Trades Class, Federal Skilled Worker Class, and Canadian Experience Class.
Canada has higher admission targets for the programs managed by the Express Entry system for the year 2020 and 2021. The expected new permanent residence target through three of the federal high-skilled programs for 2020 and 2021 is 85,800 and 88,800 respectively.
For PR applications filed through the Express Entry system, the government of Canada has processing standard time of six months.
