IRCC releases new ministerial instructions according to which the immediate family members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents can enter Canada temporarily as the IRCC will now process the necessary documents for the same.
According to the new instructions, IRCC will process the TRVs (Temporary Resident Visas) and eTAs (Electronic Travel Authorizations) for the eligible family members and the exempt individuals willing to travel to Canada for essential reasons.
According to IRCC’s website, the exempt travellers that are allowed to enter Canada include, but are not limited to, study permit and confirmation of permanent residence holders who obtained their status before 16th March for study permit holders and before 18th March for COPR holders, temporary foreign workers, Permanent Residents, and Canadian citizens among others.
Those currently allowed to enter Canada are defined under the ‘Orders in Council’ laws governing Canada’s travel restrictions due to Coronavirus.
